A Maricopa teenager has gone missing and is feared to be a runaway.

Shawna Dygowski’s daughter Katanyna (known as Kat), 16, was last seen at home around 12:30 a.m. Monday.

“When I woke up Monday morning and went to let her dog in her room, I saw she wasn’t there and her window was unlocked,” Dygowski said.

Maricopa Police Department spokesman Ricardo Alvarado said Kat apparently left notes, and officers are following up with her friends. However, the notes did not indicate where she might be going.

“We don’t have information that she was with anyone,” Alvarado said.

“The police are doing great but everything is a dead end,” Dygowski said. “She has no phone so no way to track her. No bank [account] so no access to money.”

Katanyna Pauline Dygowski is described as 5-foot-6, 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She has braces and a nose piercing.
