SUNDAY
Art on the Veranda continues into its second day at The Duke Golf Course at Rancho El Dorado, 42260 W Rancho El Dorado Parkway

VFW Buddy Poppy Drive also continues from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of Fry’s Marketplace and Walmart.

MONDAY
Flag Raising to Honor Veterans is at 7:45 a.m. at Legacy Traditional School, 17760 N. Regent Drive.

Youth Internship Committee meets at 5 p.m. at City Hall to discuss business participation in the program and plan the Youth Internship Fair.

Planning & Zoning Commission meets at 6 p.m. at City Hall for a public hearing on a conditional use permit in Glennwilde for In Command Communications (Verizon Wireless)  to replace six-foot antennas with eight-foot antennas at Pacana Park.

TUESDAY
Flag Raising to Honor Vets is repeated at 8 a.m. at Legacy Traditional School, 17760 N. Regent Drive.

Veterans Day Program at Leading Edge Academy is in two sessions featuring the Youth Choir, first at 9 a.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. Veterans and their families are also invited to breakfast.

Coffee with Friends of the Maricopa Library is at 1:30 a.m. at Maricopa Public Library, 41600 W. Smith-Enke Road. All ages welcome.

Youth Council meets at 6 p.m. at Copper Sky multipurpose room A to discuss upcoming activities, including Copa Care Packages.

WEDNESDAY

Veterans eat free at the 347 Grill at UltraStar Multi-tainment Center, with military ID.

Veterans Day Flag-Raising is at 8 a.m. at Maricopa Veterans Center, 44240 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. There were will be a tribute to U.S. military veterans, a flag-raising by the JrROTC, and special recognition to veterans of the Vietnam War and the Global War on Terrorism.

Veterans Day Appreciation Picnic will be at 11 a.m. at Tortosa Park. This is a community free, potluck style lunch that is open to our city’s vets, their families, and anyone who simply wants to stop by and show their appreciation.

THURSDAY
Veterans Mixer starts at 6 p.m. at Central Arizona College, 17945 N. Regent Drive. Meet other veterans in the community and offer ways in which Central Arizona College Veteran’s Club can be of assistance to veterans and their families. Bring your family. RSVP requested.

Big Band Swing & Country Cha Cha Dance starts at 7 p.m. at Central Arizona College, 17945 N. Regent Drive. No experience required. Pay $10 per couple at the door.

FRIDAY

SATURDAY
2nd Saturday Maricopa Market re-launches from 8 a.m. to noon at Copper Sky Regional Park, 55345 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. New program offers 60 pounds of produce for $10. Yoga at 9 a.m.; presentations at 10 a.m.

Province 10th annual Arts & Crafts Fair is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 20942 N. Province Parkway. Get your holiday shopping done in one day. Stop at the guard gate and tell them you are here for the fair.

Tour of the Historic California Zephyr is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., hosted by the Maricopa Historical Society in the rail car next to the Amtrak station, 19427 N John Wayne Parkway. Featured at the event will be photographs from the City of Maricopa’s 2015 Shutter Shot contest, which shows 24 hours of snapshots of Maricopa on the day of the 12th anniversary of the city’s incorporation.
