Auction date for Maricopa Manor moved again

The trustee auction for the Maricopa Manor Business Center, which was scheduled to take place this morning, has been rescheduled to July 1 at 10 a.m. in Florence, according to the law firm representing the lender, Great Western Bank. This is the second time the property auction has been rescheduled since the original date of June 14. Edward Farrell, who owns the center with his mother, Alma, had defaulted on three loans to the bank totaling nearly $4 million. He also owed property taxes and flood insurance on the business center at John Wayne Parkway and Garvey Avenue, according to court documents. Farrell, who is the city’s vice mayor, said the first time the auction was rescheduled he was working on a loan modification with the bank. Neither Farrell nor his mother immediately returned phone messages seeking comment.
