Breon Stephens is accused of helping in an armed robbery at the Shell station Monday.

Police say the “lookout” in an armed robbery at a Maricopa gas station earlier this week has been identified and arrested.

According to the Maricopa Police Department, 30-year-old Breon Stephens is an alleged accomplice to Monday’s hold-up at the Shell Food Mart and Dairy Queen on John Wayne Parkway and Garvey Avenue.

Stephens was arrested Tuesday when a warrant was executed by MPD at a residence on Edwards Circle, near Maricopa High School. The arrest activity caused the school to go into lockdown.

Stephens has been charged with robbery, aggravated robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he could face up to 23 years in prison.

A second suspect who allegedly brandished a gun during the robbery remains at large. MPD is “pursuing all leads” to bring that individual into custody.
