Law enforcement agencies are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of burglarizing two mosques March 30.

According to police reports, at approximately 11 p.m. the suspect, “a white male between 30 and 50 years of age with a receding hairline” and is between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-2, was captured on camera forcing his way into the Islamic center of the East Valley located at 425 N. Alma School Road in Chandler, allegedly stealing an undisclosed sum of cash from a donation box.

Earlier that same evening, the Masjid Bilal Rabah mosque in Maricopa was also burglarized and another undisclosed amount of money was stolen. Police believe the same individual is responsible for both crimes.

Anyone with information regarding either incident or the identity of the suspect should call the Maricopa Police department at (520) 568-3673, the Chandler Police Department at (480) 782-4130, or silent witness at (480) WITNESS (948-6377).

A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information that leads to the arrest or indictment of the suspect.
