The Pinal County Attorney’s Office announced the collection of more than 1,200 pounds of toiletries during the month-long drive in conjunction with National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

PCAO’s Victim Services division spearheaded the drive and helped collect toiletries, blankets, quilts and other necessities for Pinal County’s domestic violence shelters.

Donations collected throughout the month were divided and distributed to Casa Grande and Maricopa’s Against Abuse and Coolidge’s Hope Women’s Center. Apache Junction’s CAAFA receives their donations next week.

PCAO offers special thanks to all those who helped collect donations. County-wide organizations including Zonta, Oracle Women’s Club, PCAO Victim Services, Florence Police Department volunteers, Serenity Hair Design, Arizona City and Florence TRIADS, Creative Sisterhood of Maricopa and Central Arizona College Police Department all contributed to help these victims and their families.

Creative Sisterhood of Maricopa actually donated handmade quilts, pillow cases and blankets for the drive.

“The Pinal County Attorney’s Office cannot thank these organizations enough for their generosity and compassion to these victims. Since taking office, using proper training and investigations, we now identify more victims of domestic violence, which in turn increases the need to help out our women’s shelters. This jointed effort makes a big impact on our Pinal County shelters and the victims that seek refuge there,” said Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles.
