The Pinal County Public Health Department announced the death of two residents as a result of COVID-19. They were the first deaths related to the virus in the county. There have been 80 deaths statewide.

Both patients suffered from underlying health conditions. The first was a male in his 70s, the second a male in his 80s.

The County expressed “deepest sympathies to family and friends of both individuals.”

The county health department is reporting 127 cases of COVID-19, with 24 of them hospitalized. Six people are in intensive-care units.

Of the confirmed cases in the county, 48% are age 20-44. Of those hospitalized, 50% are age 65 and over.
