It looks like 200 more apartments could be headed the city’s way.

According to Greg Davis, the president of Chandler-based Iplan Consulting, his company is consulting with Roers Companies of Minnetonka, Minn., as it begins the process of developing Roers Maricopa, a 200-unit, multi-family apartment home project. The project will be located south of Porter Road and the Maricopa Casa Grande Highway near Central Arizona College.

The Roers Companies specialize in multi-family projects, with 21 projects around the Midwest including 16 communities in Minnesota, three in Iowa and two in Wisconsin. The company offers a variety of different apartment categories including market rate, senior, active 55+, mixed-use, workforce, and student housing projects.

The planned Maricopa project would be the company’s first foray into the Arizona market. Roers also is preparing to enter the Salt Lake City and central and north Texas markets.

The company’s current projects range from a 90-unit, 96,000-square-foot, market rate project in Des Moines, Iowa to a 262-unit, 312,000-square-foot community in Fridley, Minn., just north of Minneapolis.

The company filed for a Minnesota LLC, Roers Maricopa Apartment Owners LLC, on October 8. Roers Companies did not immediately respond to a request for additional information.
