What was shaping up as a rough commute home Monday for anyone coming south into Maricopa on State Route 347 was softened when southbound lanes were reopened following an all-afternoon closure due to a gravel spill from a large truck.

There was no immediate report of injuries nor explanation of exactly how the spill occurred.

This was a classic. One moron leads to 347 being shut down for hours. I thoroughly enjoyed being stuck in traffic for over 3 hrs.
