Easter is so close you can already smell the Peeps and Cadbury eggs.  Will this be the year you draw their attention to the Gospel instead of the Easter Bunny?

According to LifeWayResearch.com, “Less than half of churchgoers say they have shared with someone in the past six months how to become a Christian (45%).”  Easter provides a perfect opportunity to share the Gospel, packaged in a pretty box and tied with a bow.  Why the struggle to talk about Jesus’ sacrifice for our freedom?  Fear.

Fear keeps me and you from bringing up difficult conversations.  We fear rejection.  We fear looking like a fool.  We fear offending those we love.  Remember what Jesus said, “Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me…”  Luke 10:16.  We misplace this fear of rejection as rejecting us.

What if you could share His Word softly, creatively and in a fun, non-intrusive way?   Does she love tulips?  Share John 3:16 hidden in the design on a coffee mug she drinks from daily.  Is he crazy about animals?  Give him a sloth that subtly reminds him of Jesus’ desire to carry his burdens, printed on his notebook that he uses at school.  Does she crave fashionable patterns?  Give her a set of coasters with the terrazzo pattern and a little secret – God’s Word hidden in the terrazzo tiles design.

Sharing the Gospel in your initial conversation doesn’t need to create anxiety and fear.  Jesus promises to be with you and promises to bless you for your faithfulness.  Remember that His Word will never come back empty (Isaiah 55:11).  He will use your gifts to give them peace and fulfillment.  Can the Easter Bunny do that?
