The two primary routes into and out of Maricopa will get much-needed attention together this weekend, Arizona Department of Transportation said, a slight tweak in its previously announced schedule.

ADOT has scheduled maintenance teams to preform pavement mill and fills as well as general maintenance on nearly four combined miles of State Routes 347 and 238.

The agency has updated the work schedule on both highways. Work now will be conducted from 8 p.m. tonight, Feb. 17, to 5 a.m. Saturday.

The work on SR 238 will occur from Loma to Ralston roads and signs will be posted directing travelers to a detour via Farrell Road.

The SR 347 maintenance will require restriction to a single lane. ADOT crews will be performing maintenance on the right lane of northbound SR 347 from Cobblestone Farms Drive to just beyond Maricopa’s city limit, also from 8 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Saturday. The left lane will remain open during the work. Travelers must exercise caution when proceeding through this area.

Maricopa officials do not expect the closures to have significant impact on traffic since they are occurring through the evening and early morning and are scheduled for fewer than 12 hours.
