Relay for Life’s Party at the Park this year will be presented by Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, 3-8 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Copper Sky Regional Park.

Last year, Relay for Life raised nearly $23,000 in the city to support the American Cancer Society,  according to event leadership co-lead Jaime Harrison.

“Relay For Life events are the biggest fundraising events for the American Cancer Society,” Harrison said.

The 2023 party will include an artisan market, where small businesses may be supported through the purchase of home décor, bath, beauty, shirts and hats merchandise.

Several food trucks will be on hand, as well.

A fun zone with music and live entertainment will run throughout the evening.

Bounce houses, kids’ games, corn hole, cake walk, face painter and craft station are planned.

Cancer warriors and their families will have access to a survivor zone, a space for them to sit and relax while watching the entertainment.

Vendor registration will open in the coming months, according to Harrison, who added that those interested can check the Maricopa Relay for Life Facebook page for updates.

The organization also is looking for volunteers.

Relay for Life consistently sees attendance growth, according to Harrison.

“Our hope is to eventually get a turnout similar in size to the city events like the Salsa Festival,” she said.
