County seeking input on trailheads

523

The Pinal County Planning and Development staff will be holding an open house at 6 p.m., Sept. 21, to seek public comment on the design of trailheads for the Arizona National Scenic Trail.

The Arizona National Scenic Trail is a national scenic trail from Mexico to Utah that traverses the entire 800-mile north-south length of Arizona. It is designed as a primitive trail for hiking, equestrians, mountain biking and even cross-country skiing at higher altitudes.

Pinal County has been awarded grant funding to construct two planned trailheads on the Arizona National Scenic Trail, one at the trail junction with Tiger Mine Road and the other at the trail Junction with the Florence-Kelvin Highway.

The meeting will be held in the Oracle Justice Court building, 1470 N. Justice Drive, in Oracle.
