Now entering its 10th year of operations, Maricopa ARTS Council is the city’s prime arts services and production agency. A full slate of special arts-forward events is planned for Maricopa’s 2022-23 season.

Since its inception MAC has stayed true to its mission – “Empowering the Arts” – and continues to bring forward fresh Arts experiences for our city. Over time these include Poetry Slams, Studio Crawls, “Inside the Creative Mind” lecture series, Young Choreographers Competition, online Abstract Art contest, Artists Town Halls, Silent Reading Parties, World Music Showcase, Performing Arts Gala, and the Chalk-Art Fest. MAC also produced two season-long arts festivals, one in 2016-17 and the recent 2019-20 ArtsFest Maricopa.

Nominations are open for two new MAC Co-Directors. They will join theatre professional David Vargas and visual artist Kaui Wilson, with composer Judith Zaimont as treasurer. MAC Co-Directors should be Arts professionals already established in their own right; city-resident creatives interested in realizing projects all across the artistic spectrum, and willing to spearhead happenings in their own realms plus sister-art productions.

Formal qualifications include a degree in your artform, and great willingness to volunteer your energies to serve Maricopa’s entire artistic scene. Project administrators will receive arti honoraria.

Submit nominations to Maricopa ARTS Council at [email protected] or via FB messenger at Maricopa ARTS Council. Nominations close Oct. 15.
