Author to hold workshops at Maricopa High School

On Thursday, Chandler resident and author Janette Rallison will be at Maricopa High School to impart wisdom upon young authors and teach parents how to encourage their children to write.

Rallison is the author of several young adult books, including “Just One Wish,” “My Fair Godmother,” and “How to take the Ex out of Ex-Boyfriend.”

“The children just love her books,” said high school librarian Robin Shoup.

Rallison will host four workshops throughout the day for the students and then one workshop at night for the parents. The student workshops will focus on writing tips, while the night workshop will focus on how parents can encourage their children to write.

She will also sign autographs and have copies of her books available for sale.

“This event will both be educational and a lot of fun,” Shoup said.
