Beeline Highway opens with restrictions

The Arizona Department of Public Safety has announced that State Route 87, also known as the Beeline Highway, is now open with restrictions.

From Gilbert Road to the Bush Highway (Milepost 184 to Milepost 199) there is two-way traffic.

There is also two-way traffic from the Maricopa County line where it meets with Gila County (Milepost 223) to Milepost 225.

The Arizona Department of Transportation had closed State Route 87 Friday after its crews discovered a land slide between Phoenix and Payson.

The land slide took place in the Slate Creek area between Sunflower and Rye, which was causing buckling in the highway pavement at milepost 224.
