“Twilight” actor Booboo Stewart will be in Maricopa on Sept. 19 to visit fans and screen his new made for television movie Disney’s “Descendants” at the UltraStar Multi-tainment Center.

“It will be really cool to see the movie on the big screen,” Stewart said. “Since it’s a TV movie I won’t get many chances to see it this way.”

UltraStar is holding a contest to offer fans a chance to win tickets to the screening, and even an opportunity to have a private “meet and greet” with the star. UltraStar will pick 125 fans at random from the entries received at the UltraFun Rewards store to receive two tickets to the movie screening.

From the 125 fans, 50 will be given the opportunity to meet Booboo Stewart.

“UltraStar Multi-tainment Center and the Ak-Chin Indian Community are excited to have Booboo back to our property,” UltraStar General Manager Adam Saks said in a released statement. “He has a solid fan base here in the Valley and we’re happy we can bring a little bit of Hollywood here to the community.”

For Stewart, 21, it’s an opportunity to reconnect with his local fan base. “I’m coming to Maricopa to promote my new film,” Stewart said. “I’ve been coming for the last few years. It’s been a great experience each time.”

The screening also provides fans and Stewart a unique opportunity to see Disney’s “Descendants” in a movie theater. Stewart has been in the Hollywood spotlight since he was 10 years old. He started in modeling before moving into feature films and catching his break as Seth Clearwater in the “Twilight” series. Some child stars don’t handle the fame well, but for Stewart, the journey has been a good experience.

“It’s been great because I love making movies and I love what I do,” Stewart said. “I want to direct one day and be more involved. I hope to keep a wide variety of roles and not be typecast into any certain genre. I just want to keep doing movies that I love.”

To have a chance to win tickets to the screening or a chance to meet Stewart, fans need to enter the contest in person at the UltraFun Rewards store at the UltraStar Multi-tainment Center at 16000 Maricopa Road in Maricopa. Contestants must enter before Sept. 16. For more information on the event or UltraStar, visit www.UltraStarAkChin.com.
