Boy, 13, hit by minivan

A boy was transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital Saturday after being hit by a minivan near the Dairy Queen in Maricopa.

According to the Maricopa Police Department, a minivan exiting the parking lot near Dairy Queen collided with a male juvenile, who received a non-life-threatening injury to his left leg. The boy is 13 years old.

The accident happened just after 3:30 p.m.

Impairment is not considered a factor in the incident, which is still under investigation. There was no information available on any citation stemming from the collision.
