A hit-and-run driver caused a three-car accident on Thursday afternoon that blocked a lane of traffic on North John Wayne Parkway at West Smith Enke Road.

The driver of a pick-up truck drove off after rear-ending a black Kia Soul, forcing it into the back of a red Ford Fusion, according to police.

One driver was taken to a Valley hospital with life-threatening injuries, said Maricopa Police Department spokesman Ricardo Alvarado.

Police are searching for a “90’s model pickup with front end damage pulling a trailer, last seen heading north on 347,” he said.
