Brownie Troop 1393 met Tuesday night at the home of their leader, Tanya Graysmark. Girls in Brownie Scouts are in grades one through three. Presently nine girls belong to this group, which meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Co-leader is Jodi Ducharme.

Each week the girls review the Girl Scout Motto and the scouting laws. They also sing scouting songs. Since it is Girl Scout cookie sale time, the Brownies are now submitting the orders they have taken for cookies.

A large part of each weekly meeting is devoted to a crafts project. Popcorn pictures were the project for the evening. Each girl carefully dipped popcorn kernels into food coloring, let the kernels dry and then glued them on a hand drawn picture. The colored kernels gave each picture color and texture.

Soon a Daisy Scout Troop will be organizing for kindergarten girls who are five years old. This group will also meet at the Graysmark residence on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

If your daughter is in kindergarten through third grade, there is a scouting group for her. Potential new members should contact Tanya Graysmark at 568-2994.

Any mother, grandmother or aunt who might be interested in helping out at either the Brownie or Daisy meetings on Tuesday evenings should also contact Graysmark. Extra pairs of hands are always needed for crafts projects and general supervision. New ideas are always welcomed.
