Optimist Club seeks donations for youth
The non-profit Maricopa Optimist Clubvis soliciting donations for two upcoming events benefiting the community’s youth. On Dec. 14 the organization will be giving gifts to the kids at the Maricopa Head Start and on Dec. 22 it will host a toy and bike giveaway.

Networkers collecting food for needy
South East Valley United Professionals, a professional networking organization, is conducting a food drive at various Maricopa businesses through Dec. 12. Food donations can be brought to any of the following businesses between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.:

• Bank of America
• Desert Sun Performing Arts
• Kazoo’s Kafé
• Maricopa Hearing Center

Internet marketing seminar set for Dec. 17
The chamber of commerce-sponsored presentation by Internet marketing guru Jason Baer has been rescheduled for Dec. 17. Baer’s presentation, “Internet Marketing that Works. Stroller Strides franchisee attends national conference
Jodi Cox, owner of the Stroller Strides franchise in Maricopa, recently attended the company’s annual conference in San Diego, Calif. Cox was one of hundreds of franchisees and instructors from around the world to convene for this educational and training meeting.
“The conference was extremely informative and a great experience,” Cox said. “This meeting provided an opportunity for me to brainstorm with my peers and learn ways to better my business.”
Stroller Strides is a total fitness program for new moms that they can do with their babies. It includes power walking and intervals of body toning using exercise tubing and the stroller.
