Following is a list of Maricopa business briefs for the week of June 4, 2007:

Desert Sun Performing Arts hosting camp
Desert Sun Performing Arts will host its summer performing arts camp Monday through Thursday from June 11-28 for children ages 4 to 9. Children will learn ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre and gymnastics, along with enjoying a variety of arts and crafts.

Parents get to choose the day(s) and number of weeks they want their child to participate in (this determines the cost for the camp). Registration and payment are required in advance. For further information, call (520) 483-8915 or visit www.desertsunperformingarts.com.

Preschool enrollment
Little Acorns Preschool is enrolling two-year-old children for part time classes that will begin in August. Spaces are limited due to its low teacher-to-student ratio. The daily schedule includes age-appropriate activities, story time, Spanish and sign language, art projects, music appreciation and plenty of opportunity for the children to interact socially.

For more information, contact “Miss Kerry” at (520) 980-6222 or visit www.littleacornspreschool.net.

E-documents may require upgrades
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 have new XML based default file formats (Word — .docx, Excel — .xlsx, and PowerPoint — .pptx) and are not back compatible with previous versions of Office such as Office 2000 and 2003, so with that being said Microsoft recently came out with a compatibility pack to allow you to open up office 2007 file formats in Office 2000 and 2003.

Although you can open Word 2007 files in previous versions of Word, you may not be able to change some items that were created by using the new or enhanced features in Office Word 2007. For example, equations will become images that cannot be changed.
