Global Water, the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce and the Arizona Workforce Connection are hosting a Maricopa Career Fair from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Global Water Sources, 22590 North Powers Parkway.

Participating employers include Daisy Brand, Pinal Energy, Abbott/Ross Laboratories, Francisco Grande, Global Water Resources, Manpower, Cindy’s Workforce, Maricopa Police Department, and the city of Maricopa.

Secondhand Pages hosts Griffin as storyteller
Secondhand Pages Bookstore will host Marquisha Griffin as its guest storyteller at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the book store,44480 W. Honeycutt, Suite 106. Griffin and her husband, Joe Griffin, have been residents of Maricopa since 2004. Teron’s House to host MLK celebration
Teron’s House, an organization that supports HIV/AIDS patients and pregnant teens, is hosting a community Martin Luther King Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 21 at Rotary Park. Beware of counterfeit bills
Counterfeit $100 and $50 bills are being passed around town, the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce reports, adding that the testing pen does not work. The Chamber urges vigilence in keeping an eye out for them.
