Maricopa Unified School District and Central Arizona College are partnering to offer “A Grow Your Own Teacher” program for individuals interested in becoming a teacher with the district.

The program opportunity will begin in fall 2021 and will be offered in the evenings as synchronous learning, with students and faculty joining an online virtual classroom at the same time.

Those enrolled in the program will receive registration, admissions, financial assistance  and career planning support, along with assistance from Academic Success coaches, tutoring and library resource offerings.

At the conclusion of the program, graduates will receive an Associate of Arts in Elementary Education (AAEE) and will be prepared to become either an elementary or special education teacher.

Transfer pathways are available to Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University as well as the University of Arizona, which has specific requirements.
