Calvary Chapel opens in Maricopa Sunday

Calvary Chapel, a non-denominational church with hundreds of locations throughout the United States, will officially make Maricopa its home with its first worship service Sunday, May 15. Calvary Chapel’s purpose is “to elevate God, equip the saints and evangelize the community.”

 src= leads the congregation and is very excited to get out and reach the Maricopa community. “My wife and I had wanted to start a church for a while and just didn’t know where God wanted us to be,” Ward said. “When Pastor Rudy Paredes of Calvary Chapel Chandler told us about Maricopa, we came down to check out the city and fell in love with it.”

Sunday’s worship service will begin at 10 a.m. in the Maricopa Elementary School’s multipurpose room located at 45012 West Honeycutt Avenue. Childcare will be provided by the church to both infants and children up to 6th grade. They are also in the process of planning youth groups for high school and junior high ages.
