Cesar Chavez Scholarships open to all high school seniors

The Cesar Chavez Memorial Committee of Pinal County is now accepting applications for the annual Cesar Chavez Memorial Scholarships. 

All high school seniors in Pinal County are eligible to apply. 

Over the past four years 95 scholarships have been awarded to students from throughout the county. 

Applicants are evaluated on the basis of academic record, need, extracurricular activities, and their understanding and commitment to the principles of Cesar Chavez. 

Each student will be furnished with a copy of the principles and will be required to submit an essay on how they have, and will in the future, applied those principles in their lives.

Applications may be obtained from the student’s high school counselor or by contacting Jeff Lavender at 520-560-8940. 

The deadline for accepting applications is Friday, Feb. 4.
