Chance of rain teases sunny Maricopa mid-week

After a sunny start to the week, Maricopa may see a little rain, at least on the horizon.

Triple-digit temperatures will continue into Labor Day, according to the National Weather Service.

Today’s high reached 105, and tonight will continue mostly clear with a low around 77 and calm winds.

Tuesday will be sunny, with the high again near 105. The night will be partly cloudy, with the low around 80 degrees.

Wednesday is expected to start mostly sunny and reach a high of 103. The day will be breezy as the wind grows from 5 mph to 15 mph. Overnight, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 80.

Thursday, a 10-percent chance of rain during the day after 11 a.m. will grow to 20 percent before 11 p.m. The day will be mostly sunny, with high near 103. The nighttime low will be around 80.

Friday, expect mostly sunny skies and high of 104. The night sky, too, will be mostly clear, and the low will be around 79.

Heading into September and the Labor Day Weekend, from this vantage point it looks like sunny days all around.
