Church needs community’s help to finance new building

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Parish is attempting to raise $2.5 million to build a new church.

To raise this money, it’s seeking donations in the community and running a financing campaign.

To date, members have raised more than $800,000.

Marcos C. Velasquez, a pastor for the church, attributed the success of the campaign to the faith of his congregation.

A location for the new church has not been chosen, but there is a design for the new facility, which will seat 2,000.

The parish is hosting a series of receptions to inform the community about its plans. They will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and at 1:30 p.m. June 29 at the church, 45295 W. Honeycutt Ave.

For more information or to make a donation, contact the church at (520) 568-4605.
