The Maricopa City Council will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday to discuss and take action on infrastructure and financing agreements with Global Water Resources.

The discussion also will include methods available to Global Water and other utilities and developers in expanding a regional utility infrastructure within the city.

The city also may go into executive session to with its attorneys to discuss Global Water, along with Ak-Chin Indian Community’s Fee-to-Trust Applications with the federal government that includes properties within and near the city.

3.1 Resolution 11-39. A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona,

approving the adoption of the First Restated and Amended Memorandum of Understanding between

the City of Maricopa and Global Water Resources, Incorporated. Discussion and Action.

3.2 Resolution 11-40. A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona supporting the use of infrastructure coordination and financing agreements in furtherance of an approach to total water management and when conditioned on the use of certain pathways as one of the methods available to Global Water and other utilities and developers in expanding regional utility infrastructure within the City of Maricopa. Discussion and Action.

4.0 Executive Session

4.1 The Maricopa City Council may go into executive session for the purpose of obtaining legal advice from the City’s Attorney on the above agenda item pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(1) and (A)(3).

4.2 The Maricopa City Council may go into executive session for the purpose of obtaining legal advice and discussion or consultation with the City Attorney to consider its position regarding potential revisions to the Memorandum of Understanding with Global Water, evaluate the City’s legal options and instruct its attorney regarding the City's position related thereto pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A)(3) and (A)(4).

4.3 The Maricopa City Council may go into executive session for the purpose of discussion or consultation with the City’s attorney to consider its options and instruct representatives regarding the Ak-Chin Indian Community’s Fee-to-Trust Applications with the Federal Government which includes properties within and near the City of Maricopa pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03 (A)(3).

4.4 The Maricopa City Council may go into executive session for the purpose of obtaining legal advice and discussion or consultation with the City Attorney to consider its position and instruct its attorney regarding the public body’s position regarding an annexation and possibly entering into a Preannexation and Development Agreement with one or more landowners in the annexation area and the potential terms thereof to facilitate such annexation, pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(3) and (A)(4).
