Results of the 2005 Maricopa census will be presented to the City Council at Tuesday’s meeting. Councilmen will discuss a possible land purchase by the city, a possible contract for a lobbyist/ public relations firm, a request to preserve historical planning maps dating back to 1918, as well as a potential compensation package for the mayor and council for the next fiscal year. 4.1 Central Arizona Association of Governments. The City Council shall discuss a request by Maxine Leather from CAAG to make a PowerPoint presentation to Council regarding the possible formation of the CAAG Planning Department. Discussion.

4.2 Liquor License Application. The City Council shall discuss a recommendation to the Arizona State Liquor Board for a Liquor Store License application submitted by Rosalinda O’Hare, on behalf of Peñascos Mexican Restaurant, Inc, located at 20024 N. John Wayne Parkway, Suite 109, Maricopa, AZ 85239. Discussion.

4.3 Payment of Claims. The City Council shall discuss payment of claims for March 2006. Discussion.

4.4 Professional Services Auditing Contract. The City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on a request by Finance Director Roger Kolman to award a contract to Heinfeld, Meech & Co. to provide professional auditing services to the City of Maricopa for FY-06 – FY-08 with two additional one year options. Discussion.

4.5 Resolution 06-16. A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, accepting public improvements and maintenance responsibility for all streets within Tortosa NW, into the city street/road maintenance system. The roads include Costa del Sol Boulevard, Honeycutt Road and Terragona Boulevard within Tortosa NW. Discussion and Action.

4.6 Right of Way Dedication. The City Council shall discuss accepting the offer of dedication for right of way on Honeycutt Road adjacent to the Maricopa Manor Commercial development. The dedication is for 55 feet from the section line to the new north right of way line. Discussion.

4.7 Administrative Services Contract. The City Council shall discuss a request by Grants Coordinator Mary Eick to approve an administrative services contract with Central Arizona Association of Governments to provide administrative services for the community’s Community Development Block Grant Funds. Discussion.

4.8 Arizona Historical Records Advisory Board Grant. The City Council shall discuss a request by Grants Coordinator Mary Eick to consent to apply to the Arizona Historical Records Advisory Board Grant to preserve historical planning maps of the City of Maricopa dating back to 1918 through the City of Maricopa Historical Preservation Initiative. Discussion.

4.9 Lobbyist/Public Relations Firm. The City Council shall discuss the possibility of directing staff to issue a request for proposals (RFP) for a lobbyist/public relations firm. Discussion.

4.10 Voice/Data Cabling Contract. The City Council shall discuss a voice/data cabling contract with Tel Tech Networks, in the amount of $13,005.35, for the running of voice and data cabling at the interim City Hall. Discussion.

4.11 Development Impact Fee Appeal Settlement. The City Council shall discuss an appeal filed by Maricopa Groves Self Storage, LLC regarding Development Fees imposed by Chapter 17 of the City of Maricopa’s City Code. Council approval of the settlement negotiated by City Staff is requested. Discussion.

4.12 Notice of Intent. The City Council shall discuss a notice of intent to enter into a retail development tax incentive agreement. Discussion.

4.0 Public Hearings

4.1 PAD06.03: A request by KB Homes for an amendment to the approved PAD (PZ PD 032 02) for the residential development
currently known as Desert Passage (formally known as Smith Farms). This specific request is to allow for an increase in lot
coverage from the City Code standard of 40% to 52% on parcels one (1) thru ten (10). KB Homes would like to build residences
with extended backyard patios this embellishment will require increased lot coverage. The portion of this development that is
in need of the increase lot coverage lies within the community of Desert Passage, which is described as being in the SE1/4 SW1/4
& SE1/4 of Section 25, Township 4S, Range 3E, of the Gila and Salt River Base & Meridian. For more specific information on any

5.14 Special Event Permit. The City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on a request by Pat Kieny & Joel Langer on behalf of Native New Yorker to hold an event to be held at Native New Yorker located at 21164 N. John Wayne Parkway, on May 5, 2006 from 2:00 pm to 2:00 am. Discussion & Action.

5.15 C-SPAN 2 Bus Tour. The City Council shall listen to announcement by PRL Martin McDonald and Orbitel Communications regarding the C-SPAN 2 Bus Tour scheduled for Maricopa on Friday May 5, 2006. Discussion & Action.

516 Compensation Package. The City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on a request filed by Finance Director Roger Kolman to adopt a compensation package for the Mayor and Council for Fiscal Year 2007. Discussion & Action.

5.17 RFP Award to Desert Recreation. The City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on a request filed by PRL Director Martin McDonald to award Proposal A & B of RFP #03-042006 to Desert Recreation in the amount of $164,231 and to Kimbrell Electric (Proposal C) in the amount of $265,630; funds for this RFP will be transferred from the Contingency Fun to the Parks and Recreation Ledger.
