City Hall to close from Dec. 24 to Jan. 1

City Hall will be closed beginning at noon on Monday, Dec. 24 through Tuesday, Jan. 1, reopening at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Emergency services will continue to be provided at full staffing levels.

“With many of the City’s customers and business partners away from the office between Christmas and the New Year, there is little to no demand for non-emergency City services,” City Manager Rick Horst said. “This closure will allow the City to reduce inflated costs typically seen during the holiday season, and allow our employees the opportunity to spend time with their families.”

Employees will utilize holiday time already accrued throughout the year to accommodate for the closure, meaning there is no additional cost to the City.

“This furlough allows the City to ensure our employees are available to work when more residents are utilizing services,” Horst said. “It also eliminates the administrative time tracking floating holidays under our current system.”

The following City offices and building will be affected by the closure:
* City Hall – 39700 W Civic Cent Plaza
* Fire Administration – 45654 W. Edison Road

Maricopa Police and Fire Department stations will remain open as usual.
