After a series of delays, an opening date has been set for the new Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers restaurant in Maricopa.

The upscale burger restaurant will open at the end of March 2023, a company spokesman said.

“As of now, barring any unforeseen circumstances, construction is to be completed by the end of February,” Square One Concepts Vice President of Operations Tracy Frazier said. “The goal is to be open by the end of March.”

Square One Concepts is the restaurant group behind Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers. It also owns the restaurant concepts Bourbon & Bones Chophouse & Bar, B&B Cocktail Lounge, Famous 48 and Wasted Grain.

Frazier noted that it is common for openings to be delayed, especially in today’s climate. He noted that all circumstances have been factored into the end of March opening date, so, “nothing is set in stone, but progress will be visible in Q1 2023.”

“We know fans are anxious and so are we,” said Cynthia Dunne, president of FluerCom Group, CBCB’s public relations firm. “Square One is a relatively small Arizona company working at maximum capacity, juggling the prep of new locations. Everyone is very happy and excited to have a spot coming soon to Maricopa.”

Buildout delays initially pushed the opening from its original target of summer 2022 to November, then to spring 2023.

The restaurant is located immediately north of Sprouts Farmer’s Market in Sonoran Creek Marketplace, at 20350 N. John Wayne Pkwy. It will be the chain’s 14th location in Arizona.

The company has created a niche with its expansive selection of draft beers and gourmet burgers since its founding in north Scottsdale in 2011.
