Pinal County Sheriff’s Office deputies have captured alleged sex offender Juan Carlos Cuadros-Ortiz.

“This morning, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip from a citizen who gave us information on his whereabouts,” said spokesman Tim Gaffney. “At 11:25 a.m. Ortiz was located at Highway 84 and Burris Road in Casa Grande. He was taken into custody without incident,”

Cuadros-Ortiz is suspected of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in an area a couple miles west of Casa Grande on Monday.

While deputies were responding to a call about the assault on Monday, Cuadros-Ortiz fled in a silver-colored 2003 Suzuki SUV with his 21-year-old girlfriend and their eight-month-old son.

At the time, Gaffney said it was believed that Cuadros-Ortiz’s girlfriend was an unwilling passenger and that he might be headed for Riverside, Calif. where he has relatives.

Gaffney said that Cuadros-Ortiz’s girlfriend and their child were recovered today and are safe.

No other information was immediately available.
