Maricopa's new high school continues to progress.

The Maricopa Unified School District took a step toward a new future when it broke ground on the city’s second high school on May 7, 2021. Located on an 80-acre parcel at the southwest corner of North Murphy and West Farrell roads.

The name Desert Sunrise was chosen by the Maricopa Unified School District governing board during a meeting on Dec. 8.
