St. Patrick’s weekend DUI enforcement report

The Maricopa Police Department took part in DUI saturation patrols Friday and Saturday as part of the Pinal County Regional DUI Task Force.

The Task Force was comprised of officers with specialized training in DUI detection from Maricopa, Casa Grande, Coolidge and Eloy.

Here are the statistics:

• Officers and deputies participating, 25
• Total number of traffic stops, 345
• Designated drivers contacted, 17
• Extreme DUI, 2
• DUI drugs, 10
• DUI under age, 3
• Felony DUI, 7
• Misdemeanor DUIs , 17

Total DUIs = 26

Other numbers are not related to DUIs:

• Child seat citations, 3
• Other miscellaneous citations, 83

The average blood alcohol content (BAC) of those arrested was .103;  state legal limit is .08.
