Electrical District No. 3 (ED3) is celebrating Public Power Week, October 2 – 6, along with more than 2,000 other electric utilities that collectively provide electricity on a not-for-profit basis to 43 million Americans.

“Public Power Week is in recognition of local public power entities, such as ED3, throughout the country,” said Grant Ward, its General Manager.

Public Power Week is an annual national event sponsored in conjunction with the American Public Power Association (APPA) in Washington, D.C. APPA is the national association organization for the District and all public power utilities in the United States.

“We all take for granted the availability of electricity,” said Sonny Dunn, Chairman of ED3. “It’s an absolute necessity day in and day out and having a District electric system providing our power allows us to make decisions locally on how we want to use our resources for the betterment of the community.”

Electrical District No. 3 will be providing educational safety presentations to students in their service area at the Maricopa and Stanfield elementary schools.

“We at Electrical District No. 3 are dedicated to providing the highest possible level of service to our customers and in doing so, improving their quality of life,” Ward said.
