Blended Learning Open House at DWMS
Mar 24, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Desert Wind Middle School will host an open house on its Blended Learning program Thursday, March 24, 6-7:30 p.m.
Blended learning is available for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students who are self motivated, responsible, creative, know how to advocate for themselves, and work well in groups. The blended learning classroom is a combination of student directed lessons on Chromebooks, small group and whole group teacher directed instruction and project based learning with an emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) and real world applications.
Parents/guardians who are interested in placing a child in this program in 2016-17 are encouraged to attend.
Registration for the Blended Learning Program at each school is now open for registration for the 2016-2017 school year and will close on Thursday, March 31. If a student is currently in fifth grade the student would qualify to participate in the program as a sixth grader for the 2016-2017 school year.
The registration forms can be found on the MUSD District homepage, MUSD District Office and at each school site. Parents/Guardians will receive a letter in the mail or a phone call that their child has been accepted into the program by May 1.
Completed registration forms can be returned to Diane Vigil at the District Office or electronically at firstname.lastname@example.org. If the number of applicants exceeds the available slots, students will be selected through a lottery process.
