The City of Maricopa and Maricopa Unified School District announce a joint meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 16 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. Both organizations recently came under new leadership with Rick Horst now serving as City Manager and Dr. Tracey Lopeman serving as superintendent.

“There is a tremendous opportunity to increase the cooperation between our organizations to improve services and increase efficiencies,” explains City Manager Rick Horst. “I am excited to partner with Superintendent Dr. Lopeman to make our City an even more desirable place to live, work and play.”

“The future of our City develops in the classrooms of MUSD,” said Superintendent Dr. Tracey Lopeman.  “We are so thankful for the continued opportunities to collaborate with Mayor Price, the City Council, and Mr. Rick Horst.  Working together, we can ensure a vibrant and prosperous Maricopa”

The public is invited to attend the meeting on October 16. Items currently on the agenda include a look into and discussion concerning school safety as well as secondary property tax, what it supports and who is responsible for it.
