CANCELED: Farm Science Day

Mar 21, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

The USDA Arid-Land Agricultural Research Center will once again host Farm Science Day at the USDA facility in Maricopa on March 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It was originally scheduled for Feb. 22.

This annual AZ SciTech Festival Signature Event is an opportunity to learn about agriculture and the science behind agriculture in a free, fun, family-oriented event.  Come and learn about good and bad bugs in our interactive insect zoo, learn about cotton production at Cotton 101, learn how biotechnology is shaping the future of agriculture, see how science is finding ways to conserve and re-use water to grow crops, learn how remote-sensing is helping improve crops and helping growers make production decisions, and meet guayule (y-u-lee), a desert shrub that can make rubber.  Also enjoy raptors from Wild at Heart, selfie-stations, and tons of fun crafts for the kids.  Joining us is the Arizona Department of Water Resources, the Arizona Department of Agriculture, the Arizona Farm Bureau, Future Farmers of America, Central Arizona College, Arizona Mobile Education, and the Master Gardeners.  Food will be available from local vendors.  Come join us for a day of fun and learning!
