Introduction: Residents of the City of Maricopa are invited to participate in this annual house and business decorating contest. Participants are encouraged to be original and creative with decorating the exterior of their home with seasonal characters, scenes, and props.

Our 15th annual Holiday Homes and Businesses on Parade Contest takes place Dec. 4 – 13, 2019. We accept any residents or business owners with lights and holiday decor on exterior of their premises.
Judging is based on the following categories:
- Best Theme
- Best Light Show
- Best Use of Color
- Best on Parade -$250 cash prize
- Resident’s choice -$250 cash prize
- Best Business – fee waiver of banner permit for 6 months
This contest is also extended to commercial businesses through the Special Event Permit: Supporting Holiday Shopping Program. Winners in the business category receive a fee waiver of banner permits for a period of 6 months (January – June of the following year). You may register online and collect your lawn sign at City Hall between the hours of 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Thursday from Nov. 11-28, 2019.
Resident voting runs from Saturday, Dec. 4 – Dec. 13, 2019. Winners will be announced Dec. 20. We will provide a voting link on our Holiday Homes web page. City staff and the Parks, Recreation and Library (PRL) Committee will judge Dec. 9 – 10. Criteria is based on overall execution, creativity, use of theme, light, color and originality.
