THE CONTEST:

On October 15 we celebrate the anniversary of the City of Maricopa. One way our citizens can capture this historic day is through their camera lenses. The Shutter Shot contests asks Maricopa residents to grab their cameras and hit the streets on October 15 from 12 a.m.  until 11:59 p.m. to capture life in the City that day.  Once the pictures are submitted, they will be judged on a variety of criteria and blue ribbon winners will be determined in each category along with overall winners.

ENTRY:

Entry is free. There is no pre-registration. Entering the contest is simple. Participants will drop off a CD with their three best snapshots along with a 5” x 7” print of each to City Hall at 39700 W. Civic Center Plaza, by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16 and the entries received will be juried. Winning photos will be selected on criteria such as photographic excellence, visual impact and artistic quality.

PRIZES:

Grand Prize: $100 for Best Overall Image
Winning photo will be featured in color in an issue of MyMaricopa.

Top-3 photos (includes the grand prize)
Image will appear in the Maricopa Shutter Shots photo gallery at www.maricopa-az.gov. Photographers will get a photo credit.
