Exceptional Community Hospital on Monday announced the birth of the first baby at the facility that opened in December of 2021. 

The baby girl was born at 2:42 a.m. on April 17 to a Maricopa couple. Mother and baby are healthy and doing well. 

Saeed Mahboubi, CEO of Exceptional Healthcare, said the hospital, which recently celebrated its 20,000th patient, has been committed to providing exceptional care and services to the community.  

“This is a momentous occasion for our hospital and the community we serve,” he said. “We are honored to be part of this special moment for the family and look forward to continuing to provide exceptional care for many more families.”

Dr. Lionel Lee, medical director of Exceptional Community Hospital, expressed his pride in being part of the event, but stressed the hospital’s policy is to transfer labor and delivery patients.  

But this baby was set to be born in Maricopa.
