Anthony Harvey (PCSO)

Anthony Harvey, 32, was arrested April 3 on suspected charges of weapon misconduct and false reporting. He could also be charged with driving under the influence, but blood tests are still pending.

Maricopa Police performed a traffic stop on a vehicle around 1 a.m. at the corner of Honeycutt Avenue and John Wayne Parkway. When approaching the vehicle, a smell of burnt marijuana was allegedly coming from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Harvey. When asked by officers if there were any weapons in the vehicle, Harvey stated he had a gun in the trunk.

The firearm was located upon a search of the vehicle and was later impounded as evidence. According to the police report, “Anthony was ultimately arrested for DUI and DUI charges pending lab results.”

Officers performed a criminal history check that revealed Harvey as a convicted felon previously serving time in prison, which prohibited him from possessing a firearm. Police noted the Gangster Disciples as a gang associated with Harvey.

When questioned, Harvey allegedly was dishonest and claimed he had never been arrested before. Based on, “interfering with the orderly operation of his arrest,” Harvey received additional charges from MPD and was transported to Pinal County Jail.

Blood test results for DUI charges against Harvey are still pending.
