FFA serving up steaks prior to Homecoming game

If you are in the mood for a juicy, mouth-watering steak, then the Future Farmers of America dinner is where you want to be Friday evening.

As part of the Maricopa High School Homecoming Week activities (see related story), the school’s FFA chapter is hosting a steak dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, before the game. The meal will include steak, baked beans, coleslaw, a flour tortilla and a soda or water. The total cost is a small donation of $10 per person, according to FFA advisor Bart Romero.

“We will have carryout containers so you can take it home and enjoy,” added Romero.

For those who aren’t hungry, donations are always gratefully accepted. Checks can be made out to: Maricopa FFA.

According to Romero, monies raised are used to assist students who attend leadership conferences at the state and national levels.

Future Farmers of America is a local, state and national organization. Its goal is to develop leadership qualities, personal growth, and career success in its members. It promotes the importance of agriculture as an industry, as well as the many career opportunities agriculture offers.
