Emergency crews responded Friday afternoon to a farm field that caught fire southwest of Maricopa.
The Ak-Chin Fire Department responded to the blaze sometime before 3 p.m. Maricopa Fire crews were later called to assist.
The field was located southeast of the intersection of Ralston and Farrell roads. The smoke rising from the field could be seen from the city.
Jon Sheaffer of the Maricopa Fire Department said no one was injured. It is unclear how the fire started.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to control the blaze
