Maricopa Fire Department has promoted Nathan Maxcy to battalion chief.
“Maxcy’s dedication and exceptional leadership embody our commitment to serving and safeguarding our community,” a statement from the city said. “We know he will continue to strengthen our department and support his fellow firefighters in this role.”
He has been with the fire department for more than 10 years.
Maxcy was unable to comment about his promotion Tuesday because he had just finished a 48-hour shift.
A longtime Maricopa resident, Maxcy in the past competed in weightlifting competitions when he owned a Crossfit gym.
