Fifteen Maricopa eateries were inspected by Pinal County Environmental Health Nov. 16-Dec. 15. Firehouse Subs was inspected twice in three days. The first inspection found two prep tables at 55 and 60 degrees instead of the required 41 degrees. That gave the shop a mark of “Satisfactory.” The second inspection improved Firehouse to the top score of “Excellent.”

The New HQ also had a cold-holding issue. Items in a cold prep table were above 41 degrees, and a countertop refrigerator would not hold colder than 50 degrees. The restaurant was graded satisfactory.

After a previous inspection in July found serious problems, KFC’s December inspection scored an Excellent: “No violations observed – reviewed improved cleaning/upkeep of kitchen with staff noting the observable improvements and complimented them on their efforts.”
