Founder’s Day vendor booth and sponsorships available

This year’s 4th Annual Founder’s Day presented by Wells Fargo will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Pacana Park from 2 to 8 p.m.

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino will serve as a Double Platinum sponsor this year. Highlighting this year’s event is a major concert by national recording artists the Gin Blossoms. Local talent Freddie Duran and his band will return for their fifth straight major event performance, and a new group will welcomed to the Maricopa stage: Anarbor, voted the best new alternative rock band by KZON 101.5 FM earlier this year.

In addition the Parks, Recreation and Libraries Department will be ramping up the chili cook off competition with a $1,000 grand prize. A BBQ rib, chicken, pork and beef competition has been added that will hand over $500 for the best overall BBQ. Additional prizes will be awarded as well.

Sponsorship packages, ranging from $300 to $2,000, are still available to make a business a gold, silver, diamond, copper or bronze sponsor with recognition before and during the event.

A vendor booth request form is currently available although the format has changed and should be read carefully. Booth request forms will be accepted starting Wednesday, Aug. 1 and checks should be submitted with the application. Space is limited – there are only 75 vendor slots available. The event still needs food vendors so please direct any potential ones to PRL Director Marty McDonald.

Do not wait to submit your application. Vendor booths are expected to sell out towards the end of August. For those vendors who do not make the cut for the main event, we will have a limited number of vendor booths available for the Classic Car Show (Friday, Oct. 12) and for the Family Fun Run (Sunday, Oct. 14).
