A Casa Grande man pled guilty and could land in prison for more than 12 years for the kidnapping of District 23 Rep. Frank Pratt on Dec. 25.

Pratt discovered Hilyard Bardney Scott, 34, in his Casa Grande business. Scott then assaulted Pratt and tied him up.

“We will do everything in our power to protect the people of Pinal County from such violence,” Pinal County Attorney James P. Walsh said. “We all need to feel safe in our homes and businesses.”

Casa Grande police found Pratt's stolen vehicle near 19th Avenue and Van Buren Street in Phoenix. Coincidentally, the gold GMC Yukon was found blocks away from Pratt’s parking space at the state House of Representatives.

Scott may also have to pay restitution to the victim.
