The Freddie Duran Plan will take the stage at the Maricopa Salsa Festival presented by inmaricopa.com on Saturday, April 30, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Maricopa High School. The group has been performing in the Valley of the Sun for 16 years, has released two albums and is presently finishing their third CD.

Along with its own special brand of original material, the band performs classic rock, rhythm and blues, Latin, Tejano and songs by popular groups such as Los Lonely Boys.

Once named Arizona Songwriter of the Year at the Arizona Entertainment Awards in Tempe, Freddie Duran also took second place in the local Star Search tryouts. He lost out to David Spade!

Duran sings and plays both acoustic guitar and saxophone. He is originally from Alamogordo, New Mexico, by way of almost every big town along Interstate 10 from Los Angeles to Atlanta. Duran has resided in Rancho El Dorado since January 2004 and says, “I love it out here in Maricopa.”
